Dear All Had my three month appointment yesterday following start of Humira. I knew the news would be bad because I feel very unwell. Looking at my blood tests and joints I am now worse than when I was first diagnosed. This is after 20 months of Methotrexate, Naproxen, Sulphasalazine (failed), Leflumonide (failed), Enbrel (failed) and now Humira (failed). They are going to have a conference meeting about me to see where I go from here. The biggest problem is I need to keep working as I am the only earner so they have to keep me going some how or other. I am now in limbo waiting for a phone call. All I have to exist on now is Methotrexate and lots of pain killers. Please ring phone On the up side my appointment was at our new "Shropshire Rheumatology Clinic". They have come out of our local hospital and moved into a purpose built building just around the corner from where I work. Very impessive. Lots of access to facilities and I am pleased to report lots of NRAS leaflets all around reception. Jackie xx

The purpose built building sounds such a good idea jackie. But oh dear I'm so sorry you are stuck in limbo at the moment. Can you have any depo injections? YES I'VE CHANGED, PAIN DOES THAT TO PEOPLE.

Hi Jackie, So sorry to hear of your problems just now, this must be a real concern for you being the only earner. There must be something out there to agree with you, can they not re try any of the failed meds. I really do hope you get something sorted out soon. Hopefully the new purpose built RA clinic will work wonders for you. Thinking about you take care Lorna x

So sorry yet another drug has failed you Jackie, but don't despair, there are others out there and one day you will find one that helps you. Hope you get the phone call soon.
Love, Doreen xx

hi Jackie,
so sorry to hear that so far nothing's working for you ... and here's me feeling down that so far my Methotrexate hasn't worked for me just over 4 months on, am in the process of upping the dose before they try anything else.
and you must be under stress with having to work, i know i wouldn't be capable now.
be interested to see what they suggest for you next,
take care and good luck.

Dear All Thank you for your kind replies. Julie - yes thankfully they did give me a depo injection so joints feeling a little easier today. Luckily I am working from home today so can rest much more than having to "run" around the office. To all those just starting on medication - I am not a typical case on failing meds so do not despair as what I have failed on may well work wonders for you. It is just about finding the right thing for me. I always was awkward . Take care Jackie xx

Jackie, sorry to hear how bad things are for you at the moment. Failing on drugs really gets you down. I hope they can find the right one for you, especially as you are the breadwinner. I understand with that too, I am in the same boat. Feeling rubbish at the moment, on mtx hydroxy and pain meds. So far not working am also taking 5mg of pred. Good luck, oh by the way, I was diagnosed in July 2009 BARBARA
